The Prescott Center for the Arts Gallery, (PCAG), is a quality art gallery setting offering diversification in the visual arts. Newly renovated during the Fall of 2010 by a bequest by the late Del Decil, the PCAG offers art exhibitions and education programs that create stimulating, art-filled environments which engage the mind, spirit and heart, allowing people to come together and bring art and creativity into their lives.

A spectacular attraction in the heart of the historic downtown Prescott area, and part of the National Register of Historic Places, the PCAG offers a fully accessible, free, public art gallery that boasts seven exciting art exhibitions per season, educational classes and workshops, plus an inviting gift shop area full of one of a kind items. The PCAG fosters appreciation and experience of the visual arts and culture through exhibitions that promote the education, enrichment and cultural diversity of the surrounding community.

The adaptability of the PCAG has provided a community location for the great variety of exhibits that cover many art techniques and disciplines ranging from sculpture to watercolor, oils, pottery, collage, assemblage, multi and mixed media, fiber, plus digital and traditional photography. Our engaging annual Holiday Gift Show and Sale is a local favorite and includes a mixture of reasonably priced gift items from local artists.

Each gallery exhibit is launched with a festive opening reception with light refreshments and appetizers, generally on a Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Awards are bestowed for 1st, 2nd Place and Honorable Mention for 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional work, plus Best of Show for each of our exciting exhibits. During each opening night reception, attendees are encouraged to vote for the “People’s Choice” award. The PCAG remains a strong member of the 4th Friday Art Walk tour in Prescott, and is open into the evening offering refreshments, typically with live musical entertainment.

GALLERY HISTORY

From the first art exhibit, which covered all the available wall space on the theatre's main floor, to the present, visual arts have been an integral part of PCA. This season includes juried exhibits featuring the works of many local artists as well as some of the members of the Visual Arts Committee. The scholarship competition show, held each spring, encourages local area students to pursue their passion for the visual arts through creative endeavors.

The adaptability of the gallery, housed on the lower level of our historic structure, has provided a location for the great variety of exhibits that cover everything from sculpture to watercolor, oils, pottery, photography, jewelry and the annual Holiday Gift Show and Sale. Each major exhibit is launched with a festive opening reception.

The Gallery is organized and operated by the PCA Visual Arts Committee. The dedicated and talented committee members and exhibit curators are all volunteers, responsible for selecting and installing these incredible exhibits, utilizing their talents for logistics, and creating one of the best visual outlets in the area.
